Improvements are underway for one of the very important Interstate four (I-four) interchanges in downtown Orlando. Colonial Drive will function a single-level urban interchange underneath I-4. A new Texas U-turn will allow drivers going north on Garland Avenue to access southbound Hughey Avenue and the brand new westbound I-four entrance ramp with out having to get on Colonial Drive. The new ramp is 2 lanes wide and expands to four lanes at the bottom for simpler access onto S.R. 434 and to alleviate backups onto the interstate during times of excessive visitors quantity. Additionally, the interchange could have key security options, similar to longer and wider entrance and exit ramps to improve access to the interstate and accommodate extra vehicles.
